To prevent such apocalyptic events, international space agencies collaborate to monitor the course of millions of asteroids. They are also sending probes to decipher the secrets of several asteroids which could, one day, cross our planet’s orbit. They analyze their composition and even sample their soil. In the process, they discover traces of organic compounds and precious ores in several near-Earth objects. The golden age of asteroid exploration has just begun!
